Week 9

This week's grower spotlight is Emily Brent, a founding member of City Commons and the owner of Singing Tree Garden.  Singing Tree Garden is family farming operation and Emily specializes in producing perennial herbs, flowers and tree fruit from her orchard. You may have seen her over the years at the Grown In Detroit table at Eastern Market, and at the Grosse Pointe market, or at her farm which is a distribution site for City Commons CSA shares. We are thankful for the abundant contributitions that Emily, her family, and her farm bring to our group. In this week's shares, everyone gets heirloom tomatoes and then gets a choice of 1 other unit of tomatoes; choice between salad mix and beans; choice between parsley and chives; and between eggplant and potatoes. Additional items include honey, kale and summer squash. Don't forget to come party in the Garden on August 19th at Occupy Yourself Agricultural Academy!
